QUETTA, Oct 26: A large number of lawyers on Saturday staged a demonstration in front of the press club protesting against the killing of two persons in Panjgur by the Makran Scouts personnel.

The president of the Balochistan Bar Association, Ali Ahmed Kurd, speaking on the occasion strongly condemned the Makran Scouts’ action against the protesting people in Panjgur.

It was a matter of great concern, he said urging all the democratic forces and human rights organizations to take notice of the killing.

He said that the FC should desist from taking to the cities and launch anti-smuggling campaign in the border areas.

Mr Kurd urged the government to take notice of the incident and stop the FC from killing innocent people.

He demanded the arrest of the people responsible for the killing.

WORKSHOP: A two-day workshop on the Devolution Plan ended here on Saturday, adds APP.

Prof Laiq Ahmed in his closing remarks said there were 6,022 union councils in Pakistan, which should work together. He urged district officers to work in a better way for community development in their respective areas.

Executive district officers from across Balochistan participated in the workshop.

Later, Mr Laiq distributed certificates among the participants of the workshop.
