HYDERABAD, Oct 26: The members of the Taluka Council City on Saturday called for dismissal of the office-bearers of the Municipal Workers’ Union who had trespassed into the office of the TCC Nazim, Moinuddin Shaikh.
The general secretary of the Municipal Workers’ Union, Akram Rajput, and other union officials had trespassed into the office of the TCC Nazim on Oct 17, they said.
The TCC members accused Rajput of accumulating wealth beyond his means, saying he had amassed million of rupees despite being a grade-5 officer.
They called for sending the case to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
The council session was adjourned till Monday after adoption of a resolution against the union’s general secretary unanimously.
Convenor Abdul Qadeer Naghar suspended the meeting’s agenda and allowed debate on the Oct 17 incident on a point of order raised by Abdul Waheed Qureshi Ajmeri.
Speaking on the occasion, Qamaruddin Sheikh accused the union officials of having trespassed in the office of the TCC Nazim.
He also accused the union officials of having abused the TCC nazim verbally.
Later, they urged the government to lift the ban on new appointments to put an end the union’s monopoly.
Abdul Ghaffar Qureshi, Shahabuddin Munshi, Iqbal Sheikh and Usman Abbasi, Anwar Chundrigar, Syed Salawat, Hakeem Sameer Ashrafi, Yaqoob Bhatti and others also spoke on the occasion.
They also staged a token walk-out as to express solidarity with the TCC Nazim.
