Wapda cuts meter cost

Published October 26, 2002

LAHORE, Oct 25: Wapda has reduced the single phase meter connection charges by Rs 400, which is effective from Nov 1 next.

“The recent reduction in the price of the single phase meter from last year’s Rs 1,125 to Rs 850 has enabled the authority to rationalize the cost of the single phase connection ,” a Wapda spokesman said.

The new connection fee from Nov 1 will be Rs 3,500 instead of the current Rs 3,900.

Wapda has meanwhile decided to procure 1.5 million meters during the current financial year for which tenders have been called from the local as well as foreign firms .

According to the Wapda spokesman, the meters offered by a Chinese firm are being evaluated, a process which may take another three to four months.—APP
