CHITRAL, Oct 25: The district and sessions judge, Abdur Rehman Khan, released on bail the wife and daughter of the accused in the killing of a Spanish national, Jordy, who was murdered in August.

The accused has been absconding since and is believed to have fled to Afghanistan.

The police had recovered some of the daily-use items of Jordy from the house of the accused and later arrested his wife and daughter and sent them to the judicial lock-up.

The court ordered the release of the two on a surety bond of Rs100,000 after the prosecution failed to present sufficient proof.

It may be recalled that the police had recovered nothing from the house in its first raid.

MMA: The secretary-general of Muttahida Majlis-i- Amal, Chitral, Maulana Israruddin Al-Hilal, has said that the officers involved in partronizing anti-social elements will be taken to task.

In a speech at a local mosque on Friday, he said that Chitral would be purged of criminals and anti-social elements by the MMA.

Expressing concern over the increase in crime, he vowed that a model society based on Islamic principles would be established.
