Foundation University established

ISLAMABAD, Oct 25: The government on Friday established another centre of excellence where the faculties like science, arts and information technology will be set up.

An ordinance issued on Friday says the executive body of the Foundation University, to be run by the Fauji Foundation, will comprise a president as its chairman, a rector, two members of the board of governors, to be nominated by the board, and all members of the Central Board of Directors of the Fauji Foundation.

The chairman of the foundation will be chancellor of the university while the managing director will be ex-officio president and chief executive officer of the institution. The President of Pakistan will be patron of the Foundation University.

The principal seat of the university will be set up at Islamabad and the institution may set up its campuses, college, institutes, offices, research institutes at such places in the country which the board of governors may determine.

The ordinance also says the university will be open to all men and women, academically qualified for the admission in the university, irrespective of their religion, race, creed, colour and domicile.
