KARACHI, June 4: At least 11 people were injured in a grenade attack outside a building on Napier Road late on Friday, police said.

They said two men on a motorbike were seen speeding away from the site of the attack moments after the hand-grenade exploded there.

“According to witnesses, two men on a motorbike emerged on the main road, which is quite a busy area, and sped away after one of the riders lobbed a hand-grenade,” said Deputy Inspector General South Iqbal Mehmood.

The attack left some 11 people injured, who were taken to the Civil Hospital, he said.

It would be premature to say anything about the motive of and people behind the assault, he added.
