KARACHI: KU syndicate poll results

KARACHI, Oct 24: The University of Karachi on Thursday announced result of the by-election to the seats of the syndicate from the constituencies of associate professor and assistant professor.

According to the result, Dr Rafiq Alam Khan won 27 votes and was declared elected on the seat from the constituency of associate professors. His rival, Dr M. Abid Hasnain, secured 26 votes.

Dr Riaz Ahmed was declared elected with 59 votes for the seat from the constituency of assistant professors. His rival candidates, M. Shahid Qureshi and Dr Shabbir Ahsan polled 53 and 14 votes respectively.

In a notification, the Registrar of the University has said that in the by-election, Prof. Muhammad Qaiser has been declared elected unopposed to the seat of the syndicate from the constituency of the University’s Senate.—APP
