KARACHI: The International Hockey Federation (FIH) has promoted Pakistani umpire Waqas Ahmed Butt for his excellent performance during the 20th Sultan Azlan Shah Cup held in Ipoh, Malaysia from May 5 to 15.

It is a matter of great pleasure and satisfaction that Waqas Ahmed, a national ‘A’ grade umpire, has been promoted by the International Hockey Federation as an international umpire.

The PHF congratulated Waqas Ahmed on his promotion and also felicitated Pakistan Television Corporation (employer of Waqas) for whom it is an honour.—Agencies
