LANDI KOTAL, Oct 23: The political administration in Jamr-ud, subdivision of Khyber Agency, arrested eight criminals for their alleged involvement in murder and abduction cases.
The arrests were made in two separate raids conducted under the supervision of Assistant Political Agent of Jamrud.
Four brothers, Akbar Ali, Niaz Ali, Murad Ali and Tariq, residents of Kakshal, Peshawar, had killed the wife of Ahmad Gul, a resident of Dara Adamkhel two months ago. The murderers, after committing the crime, fled to Jamrud and rented a house at the Naway Abadi.
A joint team of khasadars and Khyber Rifles jawans was constituted by the Jamrud administration, which raided the house of the accused and arrested Akbar Ali and his son Rehmat Ali. The other three brothers of Akbar Ali were not present and thus could not be arrested.
In another operation the authorities arrested six Afghan nationals for their involvement in the abduction of a 14-year-old girl from Khan Garh tehsil of Muzaffargarh in Punjab.
Abdur Rasheed, father of the abducted girl Rashida Parveen, lodged a complaint with the APA Jamrud that his daughter was kidnapped for ransom by six Afghan nationals, who were residing along side his house in Khan Garh. On inquiries, the administration learnt that the Afghan family was residing at Shah Kas area of Jamrud. Immediately a raid was conducted at the house of the suspects and all six were arrested.
