KARACHI: 20 vehicles hijacked

KARACHI, Oct 23: A young man was killed by unknown persons who later dumped his body in Korangi late Wednesday night.

Police said Mohammad Abbas Ibrahim, 27, a cloth merchant was kidnapped by unknown persons on Tuesday morning from Korangi.

Later in the night, his bullet-riddled body was dumped from a moving car in Korangi Sector 35-C near Masjid Ghous-i-Azam.

His body was shifted to JPMC for postmortem examination, police said.

ACCIDENT: A young boy died in a road traffic accident in Orangi Town late Tuesday night.

Police said that Ahsan, 15, was crossing a road in Ghaziabad when a minibus of route Z-2 (PE-2745) hit him.

The young boy was rushed to Abbasi Hospital where he died during treatment. Police claimed to have arrested the errant driver Mohammad Naeem and impounded the vehicle.

BURNS: A newly-married woman suffered burn wounds in Korangi on Wednesday.

Police said Mona Saba, 19, was working in the kitchen when she suffered burns. She was rushed to the Civil Hospital Karachi, and admitted for treatment.

Hospital sources said that the victim had suffered over 90 per cent burn wounds and termed her condition serious.

CARJACKINGS: At least 20 vehicles — six cars and 14 — motorcycles were either hijacked or stolen in different parts of the city on Wednesday.

Two cars were taken away at gunpoint and four were stolen in different parts of the city while six motorcycles were hijacked and eight stolen in the city.
