ISLAMABAD, May 24: Army Chief Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani met on Tuesday his Russian counterpart Colonel General Alexander Postnikov at the General Headquarters in a move towards “reviewing and reinventing” defence ties between their countries.
The two commanders resolved to expand military cooperation.
A routine statement from the military said the two officers discussed “professional matters” but provided no further details.
A defence source disclosed that the two commanders discussed joint training, joint exercises and Pakistan's defence hardware shopping and refurbishment list.
