KARACHI, May 19: Nine ships carrying steel coils, and to load wheat and cement are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where four ships, including Christina to load cement and Bux Melody, Manila Express and Northern Valour, with containers, were berthed on Thursday after the departure of five.

The ships, which departed were led by Valdivia, APL Cyprine, Wan Hai-602, Bux Melody and Sea Sky, while Northern Valour, Manila Express, Oriental Emerald and Kota Arif are due to sail out on Friday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was active where a total volume of 0.105m tons comprising 40,312 tons of export cargo, including 9,770 tons of wheat and 64,138 tons of import was handled on Thursday.

The following ships are due on Friday: Al-Khaliq to load 33,000 tons of wheat, Sapphire-2, to load cement, Abba, with 10,000 tons of steel coils, An Xin Jiang, with general cargo, Ocean Olympic, with coal, C.S.L. Ride, APL Chicago, with containers, m.t. Quetta, with crude oil, and Falda, with jet oil.
