HYDERABAD, Oct 21: The house-job doctors of the Liaquat University Hospital, Hyderabad and Jamshoro, staged a protest demonstration outside the press club here on Monday.
They were demanding salary according to grade 17.
Talking to journalists, Dr Shaukat Panhwar and others said due to the election and following an assurance by the Sindh health minister, the house- job doctors had suspended their protest which had been resumed now.
They deplored the Sindh government had failed to increase their salaries although the house-job doctors of the other provinces were being paid grade-17 salary.
They said the health minister had forwarded a summary to the Sindh governor but the finance department had raised objections over it.
They said the finance department had told the governor the province would be burdened by Rs50 million per annum if the salary of the house-job doctors were increased.
They said the Sindh government should follow the orders of the federal government like the other provinces and pay grade-17 salary to the house-job doctors.
