PML(Q) to introduce judicial reforms

GILGIT, Oct 19: Pakistan Muslim League (Q) will introduce judicial and administrative reforms in the Northern Areas if it succeeded in forming government in the centre.

Talking to journalists Asadullah Khan Advocate, the legal adviser of PML(Q), Northern Areas chapter said on Saturday in Gilgit.

Khan reposed his confidence in the party leadership and congratulated it for bagging majority votes in the national and Punjab assemblies.

He hoped that with the formation of PML(Q) government in the centre, it would ensure the participation of two million people of the Northern Areas in the political mainstream by granting them their constitutional rights.

Khan said that their party had chalked out a comprehensive development plan in the re-gion to bring it at a par with other developed areas of the country.

He stress on the judicial reforms in the region to provide speedy justice to the people by appointing adequate number of judges in the sub-ordinate courts.

Khan also assured that they would make try to extend the Police Act 2002 to the Northern Areas, which, he said, would not only provide jobs to thousands of youth, but also help combat crimes in the region.

He dismissed the accusation of pre-poll rigging and called the elections fair and transparent.
