LAHORE, Oct 19: The National Industrial Relation Commission on Saturday pronounced the pr1otest strike of the postal employees against the suicide of a postmaster as illegal and directed them to call it off immediately.
Issuing notice to the National Organization of Postal Employees (NOPE) for Oct 26 on a petition filed by director-general Maj-Gen Agha Masood Hasan (retired), NIRC member Riazul Hasan Alvi directed the union leaders to hold negotiations with the postmaster general of Punjab on Monday.
He appointed NIRC deputy registrar (judicial) Pervez Jalees Alvi as arbitrator for facilitating negotiations.
