KARACHI: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority has allowed the Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) to raise its tariff by Rs 0.52 per unit on Wednesday.

KESC had requested for an increase of Rs 0.53 on per unit consumption. However the Nepra only allowed an incrase of Rs 0.52 on per unit charge.

The new tariff will be applicable from the electricity bills for the month of May. The increase will affect bills for both commercial and residential consumers .
