ISLAMABAD, Oct 18: Foreign Office spokesman Aziz Ahmad Khan has said that Pakistani troops are deployed on the Line of Control in a defensive condition while the Indians are in an offensive posture.

“Pakistan is keeping its troops on the LoC in a defensive posture. India adopted an offensive posture and took an action against Pakistan,” he told BBC radio.

Now as the Indians had announced phased withdrawal of their troops, “Pakistan has decided to withdraw all the troops deployed on international borders,” he said.

Asked by what time the troops could be withdrawn from the borders, Aziz Ahmad said: “The decision has been made and it takes some time to make the logistical arrangements.”

In an interview to CNN, the spokesman said India had deployed over 700,000 security forces personnel in occupied Kashmir and “it is necessary that they be withdrawn.”—APP
