Jail authorities foil escape bid

Published October 19, 2002

SUKKUR, Oct 18: Sukkur jail authorities on Friday foiled three prisoners’ bid to escape.

The prisoners had planned to escape with the help of two FC personnel.

The names of the felons, who tried to escape, are: Noor Ali Pathan, Karim Pathan and Gul Jan. All of them were serving 25-year jail terms.

The three convicts had planned to climb the jail’s watch-tower in connivance with the FC constables Sher Afzal Pathan, Rahim Pathan and Musafir Pathan, who were on duty at the time.

The FC constables were consequently arrested and handed over to the Rohri police.

The three prisoners have been put into solitary confinement.
