US army teams arrive

ISLAMABAD, Oct 17: A US military delegation arrived at Chaklala Airbase at 11.15pm on Thursday to witness the ongoing joint Pakistan-US army exercises called inspired GAMBAT-III, an ISPR press release said.

According to the press release, an eight-member delegation led by Gen Tommy R. Franks C-in-C US CENTCOM arrived by a special aircraft at PAF Base Chaklala late in the night.

Gen Tommy R. Franks and members of his entourage were received by Lt-Gen Shahid Aziz, Chief of General Staff Pakistan Army. The US C-in-C CENTCOM beside calling on President Gen Pervez Musharraf will also witness the joint Pakistan-US exercise.

Earlier, Major General William Webster, Deputy Commander General, third US Army along with a delegation arrived at Chaklala Airbase.—Correspondent
