LAHORE: The Indian Punjab Olympic Association has invited its Pakistani counterpart to participate in the second edition of the Indo-Pak Punjab Games, to be held in October this year.
Idris Haider Khawaja, Secretary Punjab Olympic Association, said here on Thursday that though his association had to host its Indian counterpart in the second edition, since the Indian Punjab had hosted them in December 2004, they (Indian Punjab) had again requested Pakistani Punjab to participate in the Indo-Pak Punjab Games.
“We are grateful to the Indian Punjab for inviting us [for the Games]; soon the dates will also be finalised,” he said.
On whether Indian Punjab should have visited Pakistani Punjab for the second edition of the Indo-Pak Punjab Games, Idris said it was not possible because of the prevailing security situation in the country.
