UMERKOT, April 19: A teenaged girl of scheduled-caste community was criminally assaulted by a relative of a landlord near here on Tuesday.
According to an FIR registered at Pithoro police station, the complaint Mevo Kolhi, resident of Habib Halepoto village, said that his 12-year old daughter was grazing goats in the fields when Umer Din Halepoto dragged her into the sunflower crops, criminally assaulted and left her in an unconscious condition. The girl was later shifted to the district headquarter hospital Umerkot, where the lady doctor confirmed the assault and sent samples to laboratory for a detailed report. The accused could not be arrested.— Correspondent
