HYDERABAD, Oct 16: Sixteen cases of corruption were discussed and decided at a meeting of the Anti-Corruption Committee-II, Hyderabad, on Wednesday.
The meeting decided to register a corruption case against a forest guard of Tando Mohammad Khan, Mohammad Khaskheli, and recommended departmental action against an assistant forest officer, Mohammad Sardar Arain, two forest guards, Abdul Ghafoor Brohi and Ameer Hamzo, and a contractor, Akbar Leghari.
It also recommended departmental action against Naib Qasid, agriculture department, Ghulam Hyder, assistant warden, fisheries department, Shaukat Khanzado, and a commission agent of the fisheries department, Ismail Qureshi.
It decided to reinvestigate the cases against Karim Bux Brohi and Billu Khoso, both forest guards.
The committee also nominated a revenue officer to hold inquiry and furnish a report about two property cases.
About a case regarding use of substandard material in road construction by officers of the Sazda, the committee decided to get the site inspected through a technical officer and the DDO, roads.
The committee also ordered to submit a chargesheet against Ghulam Qadir Solangi, Naib Qasid, animal husbandry.
In a case of misappropriation in the Sindh Text Book Board, the committee nominated the chairman of the board to investigate the matter and submit report.
A large number of cases pertaining to various departments were deferred for the next meeting, to be held on Oct 22 at the Shahbaz Hall, Hyderabad.
The district coordination officer, Hyderabad, Mir Hussain Ali, who is also the chairman of the Anti-Corruption Committee-II, presided over the meeting.
WORKSHOP: The department of mass communication, University of Sindh, Jamshoro, in collaboration with the Inter Press Communication, Karachi, will organize a workshop on dissemination of press kit for the promotion of women rights on Oct 24.
Vice-Chancellor Mazharul Haq Siddiqi will preside over the one-day workshop.
ENTRY TEST: The authorities of the Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro, have announced the test for admission to first year engineering, 2002-2003 session, will be held on Oct 27 at the Latifabad Public School.
