HYDERABAD, Nov 13: The workers convention of Sindh National Party (Dodo Mehri faction) here the other day appointed a five-member ad hoc committee under the leadership of Dr Dodo Mehri to run the party.
Talking to newsmen after the convention, Dr Mehri claimed that the convention had approved the appointment of the ad hoc committee as well as a seven-member working committee to run the party till the next elections.
He said the convention had also terminated the basic membership of Ameer Bhambro, Dilshad Bhutto, Shamshad Mughal and Mir Shaukat Talpur for working against the interests of the party.
He said party elections will be held in one year.
He said his party will launch a movement for the rights of Sindh at all forums and added that unless the historical rights of the nations were accepted, the country could not come out of the crisis.
Answering a question about Dr Rahim Solangi and Punhal Sario, who had left Sindh Taraqqi Passand Party, Dr Mehri said that they had performed historic role in the struggle for the rights of Sindh. He said he would meet them and invite them to join the SNP.
Earlier, the convention adopted a resolution strongly opposing the rehabilitation of outsiders, including Afghan refugees, in Sindh.
The convention also demanded that shortage of water in Sindh should be eliminated, the privatization of educational institutions should be stopped, prices of crops should be increased and political prisoners, including Asif Zardari, Naveed Qamar, Bashir Khan Qureshi and Niaz Kalani, should be released.
The convention demanded that the Dehs of Ghotki should not be included in Punjab’s Rahimyar Khan district.
