KARACHI, April 13: A young female schoolteacher was shot dead while she was driving home in a Gulistan-i-Jauhar locality on Wednesday, police said. They said that 25-year-old Sana Zahra was intercepted by another car in Pehalwan Goth when she was driving home after school.

“The men in the other vehicle overtook Ms Zahra’s car and hit it from the right side, forcing her to pull over,” said Inspector Asif Jakhrani, the SHO of the Gulistan-i-Jauhar police station.

“One of the men in the car fired two shots at her. The victim was hit by one bullet in the head. She died on the spot and the attackers sped away.”

He said that the unmarried victim was a resident of an apartment in Gulistan-i-Jauhar.

“The family denies enmity with anyone.”
