PESHAWAR, Oct 15: The Awami National Party’s Central Information  Secretary, Haji Mohammad Adeel, has questioned the fairness of the general election specially in the NWFP  and Balochistan.

In a press release issued here on Tuesday, Haji Adeel said that though the ANP had accepted the election results, the element of rigging could not be overlooked.

He said it was quite evident that certain forces were trying to defeat the nationalist forces in the NWFP and Balochistan, adding that popular political forces raising voice for getting rights for smaller provinces from Punjab were made to remain out of parliament.

Haji Adeel said party would discuss this matter in its central executive committee and executive council meeting to be held shortly. The party would give its opinion regarding the fairness of the polls after these meetings, he added.

He also said that some anti-ANP forces and institutions were actively involved in propaganda against nationalist parties in the NWFP and Balochistan. These parties were popular in the masses and were actively involved in country’s politics before and after the election.

He  alleged  that the Election Commission for some  of  its regularities in conducting the elections.
