LAHORE, April 4: Secretary of his own faction of the Pakistan Badminton Federation (PBF)Aamir Hayat Khan Rokhari said that his rival group of Nazar Mohammad Gondal was entirely responsible for getting the country banned from the World Badminton Federation (WBF).

Talking to reporters, while reacting to the WFB decision to ban Pakistan due to grouping in the Pakistan Badminton Federation (PBF), Rokhari said had his rival Nazar, accepted the decision of the Pakistan Olympic Association' Arbitration Committee, given on Feb 10, 2011 to hold fresh elections, the BWF would not have banned Pakistan.

He alleged that formation of a parallel body by Nazar Muhammad Gondal was solely responsible for the suspension.

The BWF had suspended the Pakistan membership on April 1, claiming that both the warring groups in Pakistan were not meeting the requirement of the affiliation.

He said now the POA was going to hold the fresh elections on April 14 and he would advise Nazar Mohammad Gondal to come and compete in it instead of giving any misleading statement.

He said the only salutation of the issue was in the fresh elections, under the supervision of the POA and a representative of the Pakistan Sports Board should also attend it. He hoped that the POA and the PSB would hold fair and free elections on April 14 to end the crisis.
