PESHAWAR, April 2: Police claimed to have resolved the mystery about killing of a young girl, Farah Aftab, whose bullet-riddled body had been recovered from agriculture fields near Hazar Khwani on March 24.

Speaking at a press conference at Yakatoot police station on Saturday SP city circle Imtiaz Shah said that the girl was student of 3rd year who had disappeared while on way to home from tuition and the next morning her body had been recovered.

The complainant Aftab Ahmed, who is father of the girl, in his report, had stated that he had no enmity with anyone. The girl had been shot in the head with pistol.

The SP said that during investigation, the police had interviewed the girl’s fiancé Mohammad Khiam, son of Afzal of Chan Agah Colony Peshawar, who admitted that he along with his fried had killed the girl. The reason behind the killing, he said, was that he liked another girl but at the same time could not reject his fiancée (the victim) because she was his relative and it could cause family problems. The simple way, he thought, was to kill her.

The police formally arrested the accused and charged him under section 302 of Pakistan Penal Code at Yakatoot police station. The other accused, the SP said, could not be arrested so far.
