LAHORE: A judicial magistrate on Monday extended the physical remand of Pakistan Muslim League - Quaid (PML-Q) leader Chaudhry Moonis Elahi for a period of four days in the National Insurance Corporation Limited (NICL) scam, DawnNews reported.

Federal Investigation Agency authorities produced Moonis before the magistrate and sought an extension in the remand as the investigation was still in progress.

The court allowed a four-day extension.

Moonis told the court that he was cooperating with FIA authorities in the investigation, adding that the FIA had not been able to produce any evidence or witnesses against him.

A large number of PML-Q workers had also gathered on the court premises.
