THE bumpy road leading to the vital Sohrab Goth bridge on the Superhighway has become a major point of traffic congestion for vehicles entering and leaving Karachi, resulting in wastage of precious time and fuel of road users.
This vital bridge linking the city with upcountry areas via Hyderabad has been in shabby condition for a long time.
The road surface on both ways of the bridge is pot-holed, causing snarl-ups from dawn to dusk.
There are no proper U-turns for diverting vehicular traffic coming from Abul Hassan Ispahani Road and moving towards Al-Asif Square.
Posting of traffic police in this busy area is often neglected and only one or two traffic police officers have been seen near the Sohrab Goth flyover who often looked more interested in attending to violators of traffic laws than streamlining traffic.—PPI
