LAHORE: Chief Justice Lahore High Court (LHC) Ijaz Chaudhry on Friday excused himself from hearing a petition challenging the release of CIA contractor Raymond Davis, DawnNews reported.

Justice Ijaz forwarded the petition filed by Barrister Iqbal Jafri to another judge.

Regarding the petition, Justice Ijaz said that since he had already heard a petition over Davis' immunity status, he therefore would not be hearing a petition challenging his release.

Subsequently, Justice Ijaz forwarded the petition to Justice Iftikhar Hussain Chaudhry for hearing.

The petition had stated that the families of Faizan and Faheem were pressured by the government into pardoning Davis and therefore the court should declare his release unlawful.
