LAHORE, Oct 11: Commerce Minister Razzak Dawood has said the introduction of better policies and competitive edge in the world market can help enhance country’s annual exports manifold.
Speaking to the participants of the 82nd advance course of management at NIPA on Friday, he expressed the hope that the target of exports would be achieved during the current financial year.
The minister said the government had for the first time given top priority to great market access and a free-trade agreement with Sri Lanka was expected to be signed soon. The government would also sign free-trade agreements with Kenya and Morocco, he added.
Mr Dawood highlighted significant aspects of the trade policy 2002-03 and described the main features of the economy.
He also answered questions raised by the participants about the performance of the government in foreign trade.
