ISLAMABAD, Oct 10: Information Minister Nisar A. Memon said here on Thursday that Amin Fahim’s reported visit to the United Kingdom had no link with the government.
“I heard that from one of the TV channels. I do not know actually that this has hap-pened. But certainly in the last several days there has been no contact to the extent with Mr Amin Fahim that one could say that it could be as a result of any discussion with the government,” the minister told PTV.
“We have absolutely no discussion on the elections or anything with him,” he said, adding it was perhaps their party affair that he had gone to discuss there.
“It is not the result of any discussion of any kind with the Government of Pakistan,” he maintained.
Disagreeing with the impression that there was lack of enthusiasm during the election campaign, Nisar said all the political parties had participated in the elections with full force.
There were a number of candidates on each national and provincial assembly seat who had used all means, including electronic and print media, to approach the voters, he added.
However, the government did not allow blocking of busy roads and streets by holding public rallies and processions there in public interest, the minister said.—APP
