LAHORE, Oct 10: PML-N Punjab Secretary-General Khwaja Saad Rafique accused on Thursday the government of shooing away voters to defeat opposition parties.

Talking to Dawn outside his constituency’s Islamia College Railway Road polling station, he claimed that his polling agents had seized bogus national identity cards at the Dyal Singh polling station.

Khwaja Saad said certain people were moving around with concealed guns to terrify his voters. Voters lists were missing at many polling stations and this too had rendered his supporters unable to cast their votes, he said.

He objected to the overall polling scheme in the constituency and said the booth-wise distribution of voters lists too were defective.
