Pensioners not paid since June

DERA GHAZI KHAN, Oct 9: The district government has failed to pay pension to 300 pensioners of the district council since June last.

One of the pensioners on condition of anonymity told Dawn on Wednesday that neither district Nazim Jamal Leghari nor finance and planing department of the district government paying attention to their plight.

It is learnt that pension cases of at 15 employees have not been completed though they were retired almost a year ago. Moreover, 15 employees of the defunct deputy commissioner office could not be adjusted by the new district government.

Due to ambiguity in the devolution plan of the military regime two assistant district officers of two departments could not get their salaries.
