BAJAUR, Oct 9: The authorities in Bajaur Agency seized a clandestine F.M. Radio channel, being operated by some religious organizations for running election campaign of their candidates and arrested eight suspects.

Official sources disclosed that the Bajaur Levy Force raided some hideouts in mountainous areas of the agency on Tuesday night and recovered communication equipment including F.M. Radio channel.

The sources said that a few activists of some religious groups had installed radio channel which regularly broadcast programmes in favour of their candidates.

However, the names of the eight activists who had been arrested in connection with the installation of radio channel could not be ascertained.

The political authorities seized a radio channel last year in the agency when the US government launched war against the Taliban government.
