KARACHI, March 3: A policeman and his friend were gunned down in Orangi Town area of the city on Thursday, officials said.

They said that police constable Saleem Khan, deputed at Orangi Town police station, was sitting with his friend Mohammad Faisal in his car parked behind the Qatar Hospital.

SP Khurram Waris said two men walked to the parked car and opened fire at them from both sides of the vehicle.

Both died on the spot and the attackers escaped.

Saleem's friend Faisal was associated with cable business in the area.

“We doubt that there might be some personal or business reasons that led to such incident. We have found empties of 9mm pistols from the crime scene and shifted the bodies to Abbassi Shaheed Hospital,” SP Waris said.— Staff Reporter
