KARACHI, Oct 5: Former Pakistan Test skipper Javed Miandad has decided to pen down the high and low points of his illustrious cricketing career in an autobiography titled Cutting Edge.

Miandad, one of the finest batsmen of his era when he played international cricket from 1975 to 1996, signed a contract with publishers Oxford University Press here Friday.

Miandad’s maiden autobiography, written by Dr Shafqat Saad, is expected to be launched during next year’s World Cup in South Africa.

According to the 45-year-old stalwart, Pakistan’s leading scorer in Tests with 8832 runs (average 52.57) in 124 matches, the book will be based on realities.

The 300-page book will contain around 80 photographs of which 30 are in colour.

The foreword will be written by former England captain Tony Greig who played along side Miandad for Sussex.

Miandad, who led Pakistan in 33 Tests, scored 7,381 runs in 233 One-day Internationals, which are second only to Saeed Anwar among his compatriots.
