Maha Khan Phillips’ “Beautiful from this Angle” was officially launched in Karachi, followed by readings held at Liberty Books.

Her second novel, the first one being a children’s book, is a satire about three socialites in Karachi and their attempts to make a fake documentary. Phillips is hoping to begin work on a third novel, one that will be a thriller.

“Isn’t it a little surprising that there are no thriller novels being written in Pakistan? I mean, we have all the right ingredients!” said Phillips in an interview with Dawn.com. - Photography by Nadir Siddiqui

It is a shame that Pakistani publishers did not publish her book. She got it published in India instead.

is it shame for us...why we always finding excuses why? what you talking biggest market? why Pakistan don't have even single market to publish her book? maybe she is the one willing to publish from india to get more scope more unexpected viewer...but I'm sorry to say as a Pakistani this is radicals.... thats all
