PIA staff holds demo

LAHORE, Jan 20: PIA employees staged a rally on Thursday from their office on Egerton Road to Lahore Press Club against the proposed sale of airlines' profitable routes to the Turkish Airline.

Holding banners and placards, they demanded that the PIA administration withdraw the “controversial” decision.

They said the decision would affect a large number of employees. They warned the administration they would continue their protest if it did not withdraw the decision. Postal employees:

The National Organisation of Postal Employees (Nope) staged a protest rally outside the press club on Thursday against the proposed privatisation of the Pakistan Post Office Department. “The government should withdraw its decision, otherwise the postal employees will continue their protest across the country,” Nope's Lahore office secretary Najamuddin said. He said the Nope was also planning to observe a wheel-jam strike in case the government refused to accept their demands.
