Schedule for U-15 trials announced

LAHORE, Oct 2: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Wednesday announced a three-stage trials programme to select the Pakistan team for Under-15 Asia Cup. The event is scheduled to be played in UAE from Dec 7  to 22.

In the first phase, the trials will be held at different districts from Oct 6 to 8. The second phase will be conducted at four different centres from Oct 12 to 13 with the following selectors supervising:

Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore (Sultan Rana and Aamir Malik); National Stadium, Karachi (Rashid Khan and Saleem Yousuf); Shola Ground, Quetta (Raj Hans and Younis Ata) and Arbab Niaz Stadium, Peshawar (Farrukh Zaman and Ishtiaq Ahmed Khan).

In the third stage the trials to pick 20 to 25 players for the training camp will be held at LCCA Ground on Oct 16 and  17. National junior selection committee will conduct the this stage.

The training camp will be held from Oct 20 to Nov 5 to select the final team. The venue for the camp is not decided at yet.

In the first phase the trials for Balochistan will be held at Shola ground, Quetta on Oct 6 and 7. The probables from Quetta, Sibi, Pishin, Kalat, Killa Abdullah and Chaman will appear on Oct 6 and from Turbat, Chaghi, Naseerabad and Loralai on Oct 7 under the supervision of selectors Raj Hans and Younis Ata.

In Sindh trials will be held at three districts. Karachi’s trials will be conducted at National Stadium by Anwar Khan and Naeem Ahmed on Oct 6. At the Niaz Stadium, Hyderabad the probables will appear from Mirpurkhas, Badin, Dadu, Thatta and Nawabshah on Oct 6 with Saleem Yousuf and Rashid Khan as selectors. At Police ground, Larkana, the probables from Sukkur, Khairpur, Shikarpur and Jacobabad will appear on Oct 8. Saleem Yousuf with Ilyas Khan will conduct the trials.

In Punjab, the trials will be held at seven different districts from Oct 6 to 8. The boys from Sheikhupura and Hafizabad will appear at Sheikhupura Stadium on Oct 6 where Manzoor Elahi and Azhar Khan are the selectors. The players from Gujranwala, Gujrat and Sialkot will be tested at the Govt College, Gujranwala on Oct 6. Abdul Sami and Mohammad Jamil are the selectors.

Okara Gymkhana ground is the venue where the boys from Okara, Sahiwal and Kasur will appear in the trials on Oct 8. Azhar and Elahi are the selectors. The boys from Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Vehari and Khanewal are invited to appear for trials at Multan Stadium on Oct 6 where Masood Anwaar and Altaf Hussain are the selectors. At Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad the probables from Sargodha, Mianwali, Jhang and Bhakkar will be tested on Oct 8 by Arshad Pervez and Aamir Malik.

Boys from Rawalpindi, Attock, Jehlum and Islamabad are advised to appear before the selection committee of Khateeb Rizwan and Abdul Sami at the Pindi Stadium on Oct 8. Boys from Lahore will appear at the Gaddafi Stadium on Oct 6 where Aamir Malik and Sultan Rana are the selectors.

For Azad Jammu and Kashmir the trials will be conducted at Muzaffarabad on Oct 8. Masood Anwar is the lone selector.

In NWFP, the trials will be held at two different districts where Farrukh Zaman and Ishtiaq Ahmed Khan will be the selectors. Kohat Stadium has been selected as the venue where the boys from Kohat, Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan will appear on Oct 6.

Arbab Niaz Stadium, Peshawar is the station of the trials for the probables of Charsadda, Nowshera, Swat, Mardan, Swabi and Peshawar on Oct 7. At the same venue, the probables from Abbotabad, Manshera, Haripur, Chitral and Fata will appear on Oct 8.
