Rain, snowfall

LAHORE, Jan 14: The fresh westerly wave gave rain and snowfall over the hills in upper parts of the country and in northern Punjab on Friday.

In Lahore light rain was reported from various localities in the evening.

The Met office said despite the westerly wave, fog continued to rule isolated parts of south Punjab and upper Sindh.

It said Drosh received 49mm of rain, Parachinar 26mm, Dir 21mm, Pattan 19mm, Lower Dir and Chitral 11mm, Saidu Sharif 10mm, Sialkot airport 9mm, Muzaffarabad and Kalam 6mm, Sialkot city 5mm, Kakul 3mm, Rawalakot 2mm and Balakot 1mm.

The Met office forecast rain with snowfall over the hills at scattered places over upper Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir in the next 24 hours. — Staff Reporter
