LAHORE, Oct 1: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal on Tuesday formally launched its website for “effective coverage of its ongoing election campaign and rebutting anti-Islam propaganda by the West.”

MMA chief Maulana Shah Ahmad Noorani signed the guest book of web portal to formally declare the Cyber Home of MMA (www.mma.org.pk.) open.

Information secretary Pir Ejaz Hashmi and project director Mansoor Jafar were also present.

Talking to reporters, Maulana Noorani said that Western powers were adamant on maligning Islam and branding it as synonym of their self-coined and self-defined phrase terrorism.

Internet, he said, could be used for the effective rebuttal of the unfounded, biased and venomous propaganda of the West against Islam and the Muslims.

The bilingual (English and Urdu) website of the MMA provides an in-depth insight about the alliance by presenting its manifesto and constitution, and covering its day to day electioneering. The site will also be used for the announcement of elections results.

Its audio and video section offers select speeches of the MMA leadership, besides promotional songs on election in MP3 format for its visitors. —Staff Reporter
