RAWALPINDI, Jan 8: The Rawal Town Municipal Administration (RTMA) Enforcement Cell on Saturday launched a grand operation against encroachments in different areas of the city and demolished three under construction shops, first floor of two private houses and sealed a shop on violation of building plan.

Town Officer Regulation Malik Tauseef told Dawn that the drive launched on the directives of Rawal Town Administrator Talat Mehmood Gondal.

He said that the RTMA visited different areas of the city and found a shop in Moti Bazaar constructed illegally without approval of the building plan. He said that the RTMA staff immediately sealed the shop.

He said that the RTMA staff found two shops in Gowalmandi and a shop in Khyban-e-Sir Syed being constructed without approval of the building plan and therefore, the shops were demolished.

He said that the RTMA staff demolished first floor of two private houses which were being constructed in Asghar Mall Scheme and in Dhoke Kashmirian without approval of the building plan.

He said that the RTMA staff also visited different parts of the city and imposed fine worth Rs30,000 on 30 shopkeepers on the charges of encroachment. — A Reporter
