LAHORE, Sept 30: The Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf will move a court of law if the Election Commission does not initiate action against the Chaudhrys of Gujrat for getting a loan written off.
Speaking at a corner meeting at the residence of party’s candidate for PP-147, Syed Shadab Jaffery, on Monday, PTI chief Imran Khan claimed that the party had provided evidence to the EC about the loan obtained by the Chaudhrys for their Punjab Sugar Mills and then getting it written off from the incumbent government.
He alleged the Chaudhrys did not mention the fact in their candidature and were liable to be disqualified.
Imran said this information contained in the annual report of the MCB had been passed on to the Election Commission as ‘irrefutable evidence’. He asserted that those who had plundered the national wealth would not be allowed to enter into the corridors of power.
