KARACHI, Sept 30: Five ships carrying containers and general cargo are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where four ships, Iwato, Jamila, Bunga Bidara to unload and load containers and Andhika Adhidaya to unload tallow were berthed after the sailing of as many.

The ships, which departed included Hyundai Advance, Bunga Bidara, Heluan and Nur al-Jubail, while Ektinos, Andhika Adhidaya, Iwato, Jamila and Khairpur are due to sail out on Tuesday.

Owing to lesser calling of oil tankers, the total tonnage fell to 24,791 tons comprising 13,708 tons of export cargo and 11,083 tons of import tonnage.

Berth occupancy at the wharves on the lower side at 43 and 33 per cent both at the bulk oil piers and the dry wharves.

The following ships are due on Tuesday: MOL Sincerity, Wan Hai-305, Kota Tegaz, Dagmar and APL Costa Rica-A.
