ISLAMABAD, Sept 27: Pakistan Television is providing coverage to all political parties according to the Code of Conduct issued by the Election Commission.

This was stated by PTV Managing Director Yousaf Baig Mirza while speaking at a news conference here on Friday.

He said the PTV had taken many steps for the coverage of election activities of the political parties. It was also the responsibility of the parties to keep the media informed about their political and election activities, he added.

From Sept 7 to 22, the PTV in its news bulletins of 8pm, 9pm and 10pm had given a coverage of 94 minutes in total to the political parties, he told the newsmen, and added that the PML-QA and smaller parties were given a coverage of 18 and 26 minutes respectively.

Whereas the People’s Party Parliamentarians, Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal, PML-N and Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf, which were critical of the government policies had got coverage of 45 minutes, he said.—APP
