KARACHI: Youth shot dead

KARACHI, Sept 26: A young man was shot dead in Gulistan-i-Jauhar on Thursday.

Police said that Adil Ahmed Jilani, aged 35, an electrician, was on his way to his house in Chishti Nagar, Block 10, Gulistan-i-Jauhar, when he was intercepted by two unidentified men, riding on a motorcycle, who shot him at point-blank range and drove off.

Police said that the single bullet hit his eye which pierced through his head.

Police claimed that the victim was a former worker of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement. Formerly he lived in Azizabad. Some two years back he had shifted to Gulistan-i-Jauhar where he had been living in a rented house.

His body was sent to Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Centre for post-mortem.

A taxi driver was shot dead in Korangi Industrial Area on late Wednesday night.

Police said that Wazir Khan, aged 55, a taxi driver, was shot dead by unidentified men who were travelling in his taxi (KM-9566). He suffered three bullet wounds to his face.

His body was sent to the JPMC for post-mortem.

Police described the killing as the result of a quarrel over fare.

FOUND DEAD: A boy was found on the roof of a house in Manghopir on Thursday. The body died three days ago.
