RAWALPINDI: Five people were killed and two others wounded as a car crashed into spectators during a race in Riwat area of Rawalpindi.

According to the police, during a car race, one out of control car smashed into a footpath. One person in the car died while four other bystanders were killed including one child.

Two of the wounded have been shifted to a nearby hospital where are their condition is reported to be stable.

Police said that the car race is held every week even though people have not been given any permission to do so.
