ISLAMABAD, Sept 24: The Chief Election Commissioner directed on Tuesday the Inspector General of Police, Balochistan, to look into the grievance of the People’s Party Parliamentarians (PPP) that the Pakistan Muslim League PML(Q) candidates opened fire on its office in Nasirabad.

The CEC took suo motu notice on the reports quoting the PPP that the PML(Q) candidate from Nasirabad, opened indiscriminate fire at the election office of the PPP and the local police declined to register an FIR against the alleged culprits.

The CEC ordered the IGP “to look into the above grievance and take immediate appropriate action against the alleged culprits as contemplated under the relevant provisions of the Code of Criminal Procedure and the Police Order 2002” and intimate the commission.
