LARKANA, Sept 24: Three persons were injured on Tuesday after a clash between the activists of the Sindh Democratic Alliance (SDA) and the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).

All the three injured — Lal Bakhsh Gopang, Riaz Ahmed and Munwar Ali — belong to the SDA.

According to the police, no one was critically injured.

Meanwhile, the SDA candidate contesting from NA-206 (Larkana- III), Syed Asghar Shah Rashidi, accused the PPP workers of attacking the SDA’s town office.

Later, the police arrested Asif Leghari, Hazar Khan, Nasir Khan and Jabir Ali.

In the meantime, the chief of the Sindh National Front (SNF) Mumtaz Ali Bhutto on Tuesday chaired a meeting of the Larkana District Alliance’s (LDA) executive committee.

The PML-Q’s district president, Altaf Hussain Unnar, the PML- N’s district president, Babu Sarfraz Jatoi, Parvez Pechuho, Akram Khan Bughio, Syed Asghar Shah of the SDA and others attended the meeting.

The meeting, which was convened to strike out adjustments on certain national and provincial assembly seats, failed to arrive at a consensus on the issue. The differences in the LDA ranks would improve the prospects for the PPP candidates in Larkana district.

The Khaksar Tehrik, an LDA component, had earlier announced to support the PPP.

In the meanwhile, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro visited the main business centres of Larkana and urged the businessmen to support the PPP. He was accompanied by Jamil Soomro and other party workers.

He is facing Ahmed Ali Shaikh, Jawed Mithani and Mansoor Ahmed Shaikh, Saeed Ahmed Bhutto of the PPP-SB on this seat.

Khuhro also met Hamiduddin Almashraqi, the chief of Khaksar Tehrik. They later announced that the chairman of the PPP, Makhdoom Amin Fahim, would address a public meeting on Oct 6 in Jinnahbagh.
